Your rights and responsibilities when using AfriDish

AfriDish generates meal plans based on nutritional science and your stated health conditions. These plans are for general wellness guidance only — they are not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor or dietitian. Always consult your healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using AfriDish, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

AfriDish is operated by Vital Rise Health LLC, Wyoming, USA. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Vital Rise Health LLC.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use AfriDish.

Service Description

AfriDish provides AI-generated personalised African meal plans tailored to your health conditions, cuisine preferences, and nutritional goals.

AfriDish provides nutritional guidance only. It is not a medical service, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional medical or dietary consultation.

We offer access to a directory of African nutritionists. Consultations with nutritionists are independent professional services — AfriDish is not responsible for consultation outcomes.

Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal, and Refunds

Free trial: 7 days, no credit card required at signup. The trial converts to a paid subscription only if you choose a plan and provide payment details.

Plans and prices: Standard $9.99/month, Health Pro $14.99/month, Family Vault $24.99/month. Annual billing applies an effective two-months-free discount. Prices are charged in USD; your card issuer applies the FX rate.

Auto-renewal: paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) at the then-current price. Renewal is charged to the same payment method 24 hours before the period ends.

How to cancel: from /settings → Manage subscription, or directly at billing.stripe.com via the customer portal we email you. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then. No further charges after cancellation.

Refund policy: pro-rated refunds are NOT issued for partial periods of an unused subscription. EU/UK consumers may exercise the 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU by emailing support@afridish.co within 14 days of subscription start, unless you have actively used the service during that period (Article 16(m) — supply of digital content). Refunds for genuine billing errors are issued on request.

Apple App Store: if you subscribe through Apple, billing is managed by Apple. To cancel, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone/iPad. Cancellation must be done at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Google Play Store: if you subscribe through Google Play, billing is managed by Google. To cancel, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancellation must be done at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Price changes: we will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price change. The new price applies from the next renewal — you may cancel before then to avoid the new price.

Acceptable Use

You may use AfriDish for your own personal health and nutrition management.

You must not: share your account credentials with others; use the service for commercial purposes without written permission; reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our dish database or AI prompts; create multiple accounts to circumvent free trial limits; use the service for any unlawful purpose.

Health content you input must be truthful. Providing false health information to generate meal plans you then share with others as medical advice is strictly prohibited.

Nutritionist Marketplace

AfriDish provides a marketplace connecting users with independent African nutritionists. AfriDish charges a 25% platform commission on consultation fees.

Nutritionists on AfriDish are independent professionals. AfriDish does not employ them and is not responsible for the accuracy or outcomes of their advice.

If you have a dispute with a nutritionist, contact support@afridish.co. We will mediate in good faith but our liability is limited to the consultation fee paid.

Nutritionists must be appropriately credentialled in their jurisdiction. AfriDish verifies credentials before activation but cannot guarantee ongoing compliance.

Intellectual Property

AfriDish and its content (dish database, AI outputs, design, code) are owned by Vital Rise Health LLC.

Your personal data and the meal plans generated for you belong to you. You may export and use them freely.

You grant AfriDish a licence to use your anonymised, aggregated health and nutrition data to improve the service and for research purposes.

Limitation of Liability

AfriDish is provided "as is." We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of meal plans for any specific medical condition.

AfriDish's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the subscription fees paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: health outcomes resulting from following meal plan recommendations; actions or omissions of nutritionists on the platform; losses arising from service interruptions.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for personal injury or certain other damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA (the registered state of Vital Rise Health LLC, the legal entity operating AfriDish).

Any dispute arising from these terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Wyoming, except where prohibited by local law.

EU consumers retain the right to bring disputes before their local courts or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform under applicable EU consumer protection law.

Changes to Terms

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before making material changes to these terms.

Continued use of AfriDish after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance.

If you do not agree to updated terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from /settings → Danger zone → Delete my account. Confirmation requires typing the word DELETE.

When you delete your account: your auth record is removed within seconds; all linked data (health profile, meal plans, grocery lists, family members, bookings, lab results, community posts) is cascade-deleted; any active Stripe subscription is cancelled immediately with no further charges; you are signed out and returned to the homepage.

No prorated refund is issued for the unused portion of the current billing period when you delete your account, unless required by applicable consumer-protection law.

AfriDish may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity. We will email you at the address on file with the reason.

After deletion, billing records required for tax and financial-regulation compliance are retained for 7 years in a separated archive containing no health data. All other personal data is irreversibly deleted.
